It’s Suited

Success has long been associated with dressing. You dress a certain way and people will associate you with a status that they think suits your dressing and the truth is, we all want to look successful. Our world is filled with limitless options for the modern man, and in turn, limitless ways to get confused by those options. But the suit!, well, the suit, since time immemorial, has been a depiction of success. What’s better than a suit? A well, dressed suit.

The gentleman is known to be a man of class, elegance, unique style and of bespoke dressing. The suit brings out all of these traits in a man, not just any suit but one that is perfectly designed to accentuate their best features and mask off the ones preferred not to be highlighted. Let’s dive into it a bit.

It is crucial to have the suit perfectly tailored to your body. The fit is an essential when composing your suit.

It’s also important to be conscious of the colour you choose to put on. Different colors, for different occasions. I for one, went with a navy blue shade. This suit colour is one of the basic ones in a man’s wardrobe, other than black and grey, and are considered the “go-to-neutrals” and work well with almost every shirt-and-tie combo there is. This colour is great for almost every function you can be a part of; whether it’s a job interview, a wedding, an office set-up, an evening dinner date, you name it. Mine is a stripped purple and grey tie. It matches quite well with the white, patterned dress shirt.

As amazing as the suit can get, you can never afford to compromise on the rest of your look. I’m talking about the shirt, tie, belt, shoes and other minor accessories. But, keep in mind that you don’t want to overwhelm the suit, you want to complement it.

Invest in a good quality dress shirt, shoes and belt as much as you would invest in a suit. These items play a huge role in bringing together your whole outlook and give you a very professional appearance.

A few tips when it comes to these items:
-Match your belt and shoes.
-Choose a tie that contrasts your shirt.
-Don’t put on a tie that has matching patterns with the dress shirt.
-Expose your sleeve cuffs half an inch.
-Wear long dress socks.

Add some fun to your outfit by accessorizing. A suit can be made minimal or elaborate by choosing the appropriate accessories. They will complete and personalize your look. Chose to put on just a few accessories to look bolder and avoid looking over done.
I have on a Rolex watch and bracelet, rings and some dark shades that add that edge to the entire look.

Remember, no matter how much it costs, a suit is only as good as its tailoring. Fit is everything.
